The
DataCAD 10 Project Book
By Dr. Leonard
O. Nasman. The DataCAD 10 Project Book is divided into a series
of drawing projects developed to help new users explore and
appreciate three-dimensional architectural design and drawing.
It introduces the fundamental operations needed for creating
floor plans, adding dimensions, and using many of the template
symbols included with DataCAD. Those users who are specifically
interested in the basics of conventional frame construction
will be pleased to see a new chapter devoted to the powerful
FrameIt macro. In addition, there are two chapters devoted to
wall and foundation detailing. Dr. Nasman has also expanded
the text by challenging users in the last chapter of the book
to complete a 3D model of a two story home where users create
slabs, voids, and use the 3D Stairs macro. Over 300 pages.

Paul Ross Wallach. Teach the basic aspects of architectural
design and drawing using theory and practice! The text
is comprised of 30 units of study, which are organized within
6 sections followed by activities to reinforce concepts.
The last two units have a full set of working drawings for
a small home and potting shed, plus a comprehensive blueprint
reading test. This is a great addition to any middle
school, high school or college classroom, looking for a short
concise text covering architecture and architectural design.
Although this text is not based directly on the Chief Architect
Software it is perfect for your architecture courses; TEC
expects to publish a companion CAD activity workbook, using
the Chief software, in the near future.
