KEYCREATOR's entity management system provides a unique
and exceptionally productive workflow to the conceptual
modeling and part information management processes in KEYCREATOR.
Modeling with Pure Geometry often uses basic entities
such as lines
and arcs as building blocks to create more complex entities
such as surfaces and solids.
Treating entities as equals simplifies the use of the
software allowing
a common set of editing and data management functions
to be applied to all types of geometry.
Extensive entity
selection features and a sophisticated layering system
including unique sub-level capabilities allow simple,
unstructured mode of building model/construction geometry.
Plan arrangement/fit
in the conceptual stage without concern for the number
of separate parts the refined model will include, or
which part each piece of geometry belongs to.
Typical Windows-based
CAD systems force each part, detail drawing and assembly
drawing to be stored in a separate file and usually
force these structure decisions to be made at the conceptual
stage.
KEYCREATOR's
entity management tools uniquely allow users to sort
geometry by level or attribute during the conceptual
stage and define part relationships and file distribution
strategies at a later stage in the design.
Associative parts
and drawings can be split off to a select number of
files or maintained within in a single file.
The associativity between files and associativity of
copies of parts within a file allows automatic propagation
of changes in a part to all assemblies and drawings where
that part has been included.
