Tech Ed Concepts, Inc. Awards CADKEY® to
St. Paul's School Advanced Studies Program Engineering Students
Concord, NH - August 20, 2002
- Tech Ed Concepts, Inc. (TEC), a full-service 3D design and manufacturing
technology provider for educators and students, in cooperation with
CADKEY Corp., recently awarded engineering students who attended
the 2002 St. Paul's School Advanced Studies Program (ASP) with one
seat of CADKEY® and the CADKEY 19 Cookbook by Jerry Kuhn.
The St. Paul's School ASP engineering
course introduces students to the field of engineering as a profession.
Through readings, field trips, and guest speakers, students are
introduced to the accomplishments of professional engineers and
acquire an understanding of the different fields of study within
engineering. This year, students were exposed to topics in several
of these fields including mechanical, chemical, electrical, and
civil engineering. In five weeks, the course introduced students
to basic drafting, module internal combustion engines, electronics,
circuitry and introductory level computer programming. A final project
involved creating an amphibious vehicle based upon the skills and
principles of engineering they had learned during the program. A
competition was held at the end of the five weeks, and was judged
by instructors, teaching assistants, and professionals from industry.
Richard Amarosa, President of TEC participated as
a judge of the students' final project. He stated, "As a former
educator, it is exciting to witness the involvement and interest
of the ASP students exploring the field of engineering. I'm pleased
that TEC is able to provide them with the commercial CAD software
used by such corporations as Nike and Boeing to assist them in their
future decisions about becoming engineers."
Since 1958 St. Paul's School has welcomed some of
the state's top high school juniors, as well as college interns
from throughout the United States to be part of this challenging
residential program. The Advanced Studies Program is a five-week
intensive academic summer program for New Hampshire public and parochial
high school students. Students take one major course that meets
for 20 hours per week as well as a writing workshop that meets for
four hours per week. For more information about St. Paul's School
ASP call the ASP office at (603) 229-4600 or visit them on the Web
