New Software Release from Surfware: SURFCAM 2001
(Westlake Village, California, USA) --
Surfware, Inc. announces the release of SURFCAM 2001, the latest
version of SURFCAM® CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacturing)
System software. SURFCAM 2001 showcases new advanced machining methods,
feature enhancements and improved ease-of-use. Some of the improvements
in SURFCAM 2001 include:
High speed machining
SURFCAM's high speed machining creates toolpath code that is highly
optimized for rapid machine motion, allowing for increased feedrates
that reduce cycle times and create less wear on machines and tooling.
With this intelligent toolpath generation, machines no longer need
to decelerate during sudden changes in tool motion to maintain accuracy
or protect machinery components from damage.
Plunge roughing Comparable to the ability of a high-speed drill to remove material,
SURFCAM's plunge roughing takes dramatic advantage of the machine's
axial strength of the spindle to rapidly remove material, creating
higher feedrates and larger step-overs. This machining method is
especially effective when longer tools are required, increasing
productivity over conventional cutting methods.
Parameter associativity
Quickly change toolpath parameters such as tool numbers, offset
registers, feedrates, etc. without repeating the steps required
to create the toolpath.
Updated NC Editor
including back-plotting
Back plot wireframe toolpath directly from within SURFCAM's NC editor.
Changes made from editing the posted output can quickly be verified
without recreating and re-post-processing the toolpath. This allows
programmers to get a more convenient visualization of the toolpath
during toolpath code checking.
Right-click
menu
Take advantage of modern mouse input-device technology to increase
SURFCAM's programming speed by accessing commonly used features
with the right mouse button. Change the current view, delete objects
and access the Operations Manager with a click of the mouse.
Live update technology
By invoking a simple menu selection at any time via Surfware's Online
Support Site, maintenance customers connected to the internet will
have their SURFCAM systems automatically updated with any new features
or product releases within a matter of minutes.
Additional features and enhancements
Additional enhancements in SURFCAM 2001 include improved DNC, simplified
post processor development for hybrid machine tools and improved
selection features for geometric editing. With over 50 years' experience
in machining Surfware offers an unparalleled combination of industry
know-how and product performance. Shops across the globe rely on
SURFCAM to give them a competitive edge to turn around more parts
and perform more complex jobs than ever before.
