Tech Ed Concepts, Inc. Presents
Two New Books
Designed for CADKEY 19
Pembroke, NH - May 21, 2001 - Tech Ed Concepts, Inc.,
a full-service 3D design and manufacturing technology provider for
educators and students, announced today that it has published two
new books geared towards CADKEY® 19, the latest version of the software.
Each of these books are self-paced, step-by-step learning guides
which are appropriate for grades seven and up.
The
CADKEY Project Book, 5th Edition, authored by Dr. Leonard O.
Nasman, is designed to introduce CADKEY 19 to new users, and to
introduce mechanical CAD through the use of CADKEY software. For
engineers just getting started and for advanced students in technology
education, "tech prep," or introductory level mechanical CAD courses,
voc-tech courses, and college mechanical classes.
Projects in this 512 page book have been
designed to introduce the three basic types of 3D modeling; wire
frame, solid, and surface modeling. Solid modeling topics covered
include: creating models from solid primitives; Boolean operations
(union, difference, intersection); and using 2D profiles to extrude,
revolve, and sweep 3D models. Geometric construction techniques
covered include: lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, conics, splines,
polylines, and polygons. Technical illustration using CADKEY, the
CADKEY Layout Mode, assembly creation, file exchange and more are
also introduced!
The
CADKEY 19 Cookbook, authored by Jerry Kuhn, is a collection
of design "recipes" introducing the basics of 2D, 3D and solid modeling.
This 220 page book will allow new users to become familiar with
the fundamentals of design and drafting, using CADKEY as their tool.
Extra credit challenges reinforce design techniques covered in the
book. This book has proven to be ideal for those new to computer-aided-design
and drafting.
The fundamentals in The CADKEY Project
Book, 5th Edition and The CADKEY 19 Cookbook are presented
through a series of carefully crafted projects that use a proven
learn-by-doing tutorial approach. The projects include detailed
step-by-step instructions. Information presented between the steps
is designed to help the new user understand the concepts and processes
introduced in each chapter. These books are available from Tech
Ed Concepts, Inc.'s web store at www.TECedu.com.
Books can also be purchased by calling Tech Ed Concepts, Inc. at
