Corporation Involvement in Teacher Training at TEC Summer Institute
Concord , New Hampshire , April 28, 2008 – Technology Education Concepts, Inc. (TEC) will be hosting its 14th Annual Summer Institute at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, New Hampshire . This is an intense three day, hands-on, workshop that has been designed to assist technology educators increase their knowledge of CAD, CAM and Manufacturing. Corporate involvement in the Summer Institute has been essential in bridging
classroom experience with industry applications. Courses are taught by teachers who use the software and/or equipment on a daily basis in their classroom as well as corporate application engineers.
New, this year, is an introduction course to 3D Rapid Prototyping. The course will look at the numerous methods used in creating RP CAD Designs as well as the tremendous impact of ZEdit Pro software and what that means for your students. Attendees will also learn the different printing techniques available, specific uses of powders, the proper maintenance of the machine, and an introduction to the 3D Handheld Scanner.
“This has certainly been an addition that is long overdue,” commented Richard Amarosa , President of TEC. “We are so pleased to be able to offer the course this year. The applications of 3D prototyping are everywhere. You see it in industry and in education. This is not an ‘emerging technology.’ It is already here and we need to be able to teach it to our students.”
For three days technology educators will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in their specific area of interest. Classes offered include KeyCreator™, SURFCAM®, and Envisioneer™ software, Laser Technologies with GCC Lasers and now ZCorp. 3D Rapid Prototyping. Those attendees wishing to spend additional time on special projects or reviewing the day’s lessons may take advantage of an open evening lab where assistants will be available to answer questions and provide additional software training. Educators who participate have the opportunity to earn graduate credits accredited through Keene State College ( Keene , NH ).
